Don Leslie
Inventor of the rotating speaker
Leslie spun a horn and a drum inside a wooden cabinet so the sound swirled around the room. Paired with a Hammond organ it became the sound of the church and of soul.
Still heard: Rotary speaker plugins and pedals copy that Doppler swirl, on organ, guitar and even vocals.
