Nujabes
Tokyo producer
Nujabes blended jazz samples with hip-hop drums and scored music for the anime Samurai Champloo (2004). His calm, warm beats are the root of lofi hip-hop study streams.
Still heard: Jazz chords plus dusty drums: the lo-fi formula.
