Radio Caroline
Pirate radio from the sea
When the BBC played little pop, Radio Caroline broadcast from a ship off the English coast from 1964, playing records all day. Pirate radio pushed the BBC to launch Radio 1 in 1967.
Still heard: Pirate radio is how many British sounds first got heard.
