Rupert Neve
Console and preamp designer
He built his first mixing consoles in England in the early 1960s. His 1073 preamp and EQ module, designed around 1970, used Class A circuits and big transformers, and gave a generation of records their weight.
Still heard: The 1073 is one of the most copied channels in plugins and hardware today.
