The EMT 140 Plate
Plate reverb, EMT of Germany
Walter Kuhl at EMT hung a large steel plate in a frame, drove it with a transducer and picked it up with contact mics. A damping pad set the decay. Studios got a smooth reverb without building a room.
Still heard: Plate reverb is the classic vocal and snare reverb in every plugin pack.
