Robert Johnson's Corner
San Antonio session
At his first recording session in a San Antonio hotel, Johnson played facing the corner of the room. The walls reinforced the low end of his guitar, a trick now called corner loading.
Still heard: Moving a source near a wall to build bass is still a mic-placement move.
