Tom Donahue
Free-form FM radio, San Francisco
At KMPX in 1967, Donahue threw out the short-song Top 40 rules and played whole album sides and deep cuts on FM. Free-form FM rock radio spread from there.
Still heard: Album-oriented rock radio, and the playlist as art.
