Egyptian Lover
Uncle Jamm's Army, Los Angeles
With the 808 at the center, Egyptian Lover and the Uncle Jamm's Army crew threw huge electro parties in LA, and records like "Egypt, Egypt" (1984) made the LA 808 sound.
Still heard: West Coast electro and the 808 at the center of the beat.
