Wolfman Jack
Border blaster DJ
Broadcasting from XERF, a huge-powered station just over the Mexican border, Wolfman Jack's howls and R&B and rock records reached across much of North America at night. He played himself in American Graffiti (1973).
Still heard: The DJ as a character is part of radio ever since.
