El General
Spanish reggae from Panama
Panamanian rapper El General's "Te Ves Buena" (1991) was one of the first big Spanish-language reggae hits, built on dancehall riddims, and it paved the road to reggaeton.
Still heard: Spanish reggae over dancehall beats, reggaeton's ancestor.
