The Technics SL-1200
Turntable
Launched in 1972 as a hi-fi turntable, the direct-drive SL-1200 was tough and started instantly. The 1979 MK2 added a smooth pitch slider, and it became the standard DJ deck for decades.
Still heard: DJ software still copies its platter and pitch fader.
